PSYCH-K™
Have you had a traumatic event in the past and now you suspect that it significantly changed how you view what happens today in your life? Does it seem as though you are:
- Discouraged because old patterns of beliefs or feelings get in your way?
- Frustrated because you are stuck with a job that is no longer satisfying?
- Annoyed with yourself because the ways you acted as a child sabotage your current relationships?
- Depressed because you keep making poor financial decisions?
- Anxious because you feel vulnerable to being hurt or doing the wrong thing?
- Surprised with how your personality has changed since a car accident or other shocking event?
Belief Change Approach
Whether the sense of feeling overwhelmed came from hurtful relationships, childhood abuse or a time-limited shock trauma, you may be acting in ways now that are stressful. Past events and experiences can alter your basic belief about how you think about your ability to succeed and get along with others. These beliefs often are held in the subconscious mind; in order to change them you need to access this part of the mind. PSYCH-K™ offers one method to help you access and change them.
PSYCH-K™ uses a scientifically validated muscle testing approach that enables you to access information from your subconscious mind. This process provides a clear understanding as to what the subconscious mind believes as its truth. Because these truths drive nearly all of your waking moments it is helpful after stressful experiences to be able to tap into them and shift those that limit your behavior and cause you pain. In addition to Somatic Experiencing, this approach can be very valuable following a traumatic or overwhelming event.
As a result of using PSYCH-K™ processes you can:
- Choose partners with whom you are more compatible.
- Care for children without imposing on them styles of parenting that hurt you when you were young.
- Decide how to move forward toward working in the best possible career.
- Manage money in ways that relieve financial stress.
- Access your innate wisdom when faced with difficult decisions.
- Make decisions that are in your best interest about health concerns.
- Return to feeling like your old self who you knew before the car accident or assault.
Others Share Your Experience
You are not alone in feeling vulnerable to life’s mishaps after a traumatic event. Depending on how much you support you received after the event, your basic outlook on life may yield more unhappiness then contentment. You, like many others, may see life not going as you had hoped. While you may have some idea of what a better life could be, you may not know how to make it happen. You do not understand what is getting in your way because the life limiting beliefs are often tucked away in the subconscious mind.
If you, on the other hand, recognize what is holding you back, you may have tried unsuccessfully to change your beliefs through declaring affirmations or overriding impulses to do things the old way. Perhaps you are like others, who have given up on thinking change is possible and you numb yourself with food or work to keep your discouragement and sadness at bay.
How Does Psych-K® Work?
When you are stuck in situations that don’t seem to be working, it usually means that you hold a limiting belief of some kind. Through the study of brain activity using quantitative EEG scans following PSYCH-K™ balancing processes, scientists recognize increased brain wave activity in all levels. To move toward a more life affirming belief requires that both hemispheres be engaged in the thought process. This is called a whole brain state.
The PSYCH-K™ process involves four basic steps. Each step uses muscle testing so that what happens is guided by your own wisdom.
- You and I work collaboratively to identify the limiting belief.
- We co-create a new, more life-sustaining belief statement.
- This new belief gets ”wired” into the subconscious mind. This is done by utilizing specific whole brain movements which increase the communication between the two hemispheres of the brain.
- At the completion of the process, we verify that the new belief has been accepted by the subconscious mind.
Case Study
One woman, whom I will call Brandy, came to me recently because she was distressed that her adult daughter seemed distant from her. Their relationship did not meet her expectations of what she wanted from her daughter.
As Brandy explored her disappointment with me, she realized that she had felt this way since she had left her marriage 20 years ago. At that time, she also had left a five year-old daughter in the care of her ex-husband. This was a huge loss and it contradicted a belief that Brandy had absorbed from her parents. She believed that a child should live with both her parents until the child became an adult. My client’s ability to parent had gone very differently.
As result, Brandy acted in ways toward her daughter that confirmed this belief. She did not show her true feeling s around her daughter and was cautious about saying anything that upset her daughter. She expected her daughter to reject her and she braced against the pain of loss. She also gave many examples to her friends of how her daughter stayed aloof when they were together.
As my client explained her situation, we both listened deeply to uncover the belief that could lead to these behaviors. The shock trauma of the divorce left Brandy with the belief that she had indeed loss her daughter, regardless of all the contact they had when her daughter was a child and adult. In the next phase of our work, the belief that “I have loss my daughter” became “I am always connected to my daughter.” During the wiring in process a beautiful image came to my client. She saw a flexible gold rope as strong as metal connecting her to her daughter.
Since that session my client no longer fears losing her daughter. She knows on a deep level that this is impossible. With this change in belief, she is taking risks in speaking openly about her own life and to her amazement; her daughter is beginning to do the same. Smiling, Brandy later told me that she now understands that the world really did mirror her own beliefs.
